Muse Announces North American Tour With Thirty Seconds to Mars & PVRIS

Muse is heading out on tour in the middle months of 2017, backed by a pair of bands likely to share new music before the year is out.
The British arena rockers – who last album was 2015’s Drones — today (Feb. 6) announced a string of North American headlining shows beginning May 20 in West Palm Beach, Fla. Along with Thirty Seconds to Mars and PVRIS, they’ll traverse amphitheaters and festivals over the subsequent months. So far, the three bands have a rather sparsely-filled schedule (just 16 shows over four months) so there’s plenty of space for more dates to be announced.

An awesome band member who moonlights as the founder of a super cool new coffee brand? He does exist. His name is Shannon Leto, his band is 30 Seconds To Mars, and his coffee company is the responsibly sourced, direct-trade coffee known as Black Fuel Trading Company. Being sibling founders here at TNP, we love all things family business, so we chatted with Leto on what its like to be in a band with his brother Jared, how they’d share Mexican food for a last meal, and his new coffee venture that’s quickly becoming a lifestyle brand…

From start to finish, what would be your ideal food day?
The breakfast burrito from Cofax (the best in LA!), fresh salad for lunch, and grilled fish and veggies for dinner.

How do you always start your day?
With an espresso and then a little reading or meditation.

Could you tell us about your new endeavor, Black Fuel Trading Company?
It started out of my love for coffee, which goes back to my childhood watching my grandfather prepare chicory coffee in Louisiana. So I decided to start Black Fuel Trading Co. to be able to share my love of coffee with the world by coming up with my own proprietary blends, each of which have a special meaning to me. But I didn’t want to just stop at coffee; I want to share my vision for apparel, accessories, style and beyond, so I’m developing a full lifestyle brand and will offer other like-brands in addition to Black Fuel Trading Co. products.

Shannon Leto’s Coffee Company Is Popping Up in West Hollywood

If you’re looking for more ways to be one step closer to meeting Jared Leto but couldn’t make it to his mystic hippie camp in Calabasas earlier this month, you’re in luck. This September, the Academy Award winner’s brother (and Thirty Seconds to Mars bandmate) Shannon Leto is bringing his new coffee brand, Black Fuel Trading Company to West Hollywood’s Harper Salon for a month-long pop-up shop. He’s kicking off the launch this Saturday, August 29th.

Taking place from 7-10pm, Shannon will be hanging at the salon, spreading the word on his passion for a good cup of responsibly-sourced java, which organically developed over the fourteen years he spent touring with his band. Offering everything from Big Sur-inspired blends to branded snapback hats, he hopes to turn this installation into a permanent cafe/curated shoppable space by next year.

Jared Leto camped out with fans, because that’s how he rolls

Jared Leto is everything but conventional, so when he announced his band Thirty Seconds to Mars would go camping with their fans no one was incredibly surprised. Camp Mars happened over the past three days in Malibu and it was all sorts of fun for the Echelon – the collective name undertaken by the band’s fans. Aside from hanging with Jared Leto and his Joker-green hair, there were also cooking lessons with guitarist Tomo Milicevic and meditation sessions with Shannon Leto, drummer and co-founder of Thirty Seconds to Mars. Just to mention a few of the multiple activities available.
